Screen from EuroLand: a multimedia project

Multimedia

We take technology for granted these days, but it was exciting in the mid-nineties to work in the new field of interactive design, integrating graphics with software authoring, image and audio processing, animation and web coding.

ERIS, EuroLand and WebSheaf were three projects created while working as a Multimedia Courseware Developer at Sheffield Hallam University.

ERIS (Electronic Resources/Information Skills)

An interactive multimedia programme listing electronic databases available at SHU, with an introduction to the computer skills required to access them.

EuroLand

Interactive classroom resources and activities on the capital cities of Austria, Finland, the Netherlands and the UK. A collaborative European cross-curricular project for CD-ROM and the internet, EuroLand involved working with a great team of colleagues from higher education institutions in Linz, Amsterdam, Stockholm and Helsinki.

WebSheaf

My MA in Writing final project integrated my interests in interactive design and literature. WebSheaf was a multimedia magazine of work from fellow students and lecturers (Sheaf being the name of the course’s student literary mag). The name later migrated to the website we’d set up for the printed edition.
